Opportunities at TABLE for Community Volunteers
We've all got a place at the TABLE

If you're looking for a place at the TABLE:

Host a "Set a Table for TABLE Fund-Raiser"

  •
  • Host a meal or pot-luck for friends, neighbors, or colleagues. Ask each guest to contribute $10 to TABLE. Your contributions will help TABLE's Weekend Backpack Program provide nutritious food to local children at risk for hunger during weekends.

  •
  • Contact TABLE for a Host Packet to help make your fund-raiser a success. Packets include TABLE brochures, information on tax deductible contributions, and "We've all got a place at the TABLE'' buttons for guests.

Organize a TABLE "Backpack" Food Collection Site

  •
  • Put a fun, Backpack-shaped Food Collection Bin on your front porch, in a favorite store, at the office - or even at your birthday party! Invite people to donate nutritious, "kid-friendly" non-perishables. Your donations will stock our weekend backpacks with healthy "take-home" food.

  •
  • Contact TABLE for one of our signature food collection bins, a TABLE poster with a "wish list" of kid-friendly foods, and some "I brought FOOD to the TABLE" stickers for donors.

Bring your Time and Talents to the TABLE

  •
  • Hospitality: Offer people a personal welcome to TABLE at 205 W. Weaver Street by answering phones, accepting food donations deliveries, and providing information about our programs and possibilities.

  •
  • Event Assistance: Help with one or more of TABLE's special events for student volunteers, participating children, or the Chapel Hill-Carrboro community.

  •
  • Gardening: Use your "green thumb" to nurture TABLE's flower beds.

  •
  • Student Volunteer Dinners: Bring food to TABLE for our hard-working college students to enjoy as they volunteer in the Weekend Backpack Program.

  •
  • Special Services: Create your own way to serve at the TABLE! Contribute your professional skills or relevant experience to keep TABLE growing and successful.
